One of the best reasons to own a smartphone is to get your email on the go, but that's an unattainable future if you don't know how to set up your account. Here's a quick walk through to help you do just that.
Setting up email on your iPhone is really simple so long as you know where to look and what information you need. So, first things first, here's what you need to find out before you can get started: What kind of email account you have? Your full email address, username, and password.
Once you have all of that information, follow these steps to add an account.
How to Add Email Account
Step 1: From the home screen, select settings(the gray icon)
Step 2: Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Step 3: In the Accounts section, click Add Account.
Step 4: Choose the type of account you want to add.
If you add Gmail, Yahoo, or AOL, you'll only have to enter your name, email address and password, then tap on Add. If you're adding one of those, congrats, you're done. If you need to select the "Other" option to continue.
Step 5: Choose to Add Mail Account under the Mail section.
Start off by entering your name, email address, and password. You can also enter a description of the account, which can be pretty much anything you want. When you're done, tap "Next."
Step 6: Finish the outgoing and incoming mail server
The information should be the same, but the hostname might be different because this hostname refers to your SMTP server. Your email provider will be able to tell you what the hostname is, so be sure to ask if you don't know. When you're done, tap 'Next'.
Step 7: Select what information you want to sync with your phone
Step 8: Click the "Save" button and you're all done.
Well! Now you have your email account set up on your iPhone.
